Our team just came back from Mauritius and had the opportunity to discover a completely redesigned, especially its first 9 holes.
The Touessrok Golf Course’s first 9 holes redesigned
All of the first 9 holes of the Touessrok Golf Course were visually enlarged as their playing areas were cleaned. However, it does not only concern greenery as rip-raps were also removed.
Those changes are mostly welcome; they reduce the oppressing feeling that could be felt by amateur players on some of the holes that seemed extremely narrow and technical. This golf course in Mauritius is, because of this, much less intimidating and demanding for your first encounter with it.
The 8th hole is the most remarkable example of this lifting. A new tee was entirely created, above ground level, which makes this par 3 135 metres long from the back tee. From this emerges a wonderful view on the mangrove and the Indian Ocean, and now allows to see the green. The latter was completely redesigned and saw its surface double.
Other construction works soon to be organised on the Touessrok Golf Course last holes
According to our information, the last 9 holes are also going to benefit from the same treatment, and will be redesigned following the same mindset in the upcoming months.
On the 17th hole, the tee for the men’s second series was already modified. It was moved and centred in the axis of the game.
Those works truly amazed us; for we played this fantastic Mauritian golf course that is the Touessrok Golf Course last November, and nothing reflects those changes. Proof of that is that one cannot notice this newly made design if he does not pay close attention. Only seasoned players used to the original Touessrok Golf Course will grasp the new layout.
You card, on the other hand, will surely appreciate.
We can only encourage you to discover (again) the Touessrok Golf Course, which is now more than ever one of the most beautiful golf course in Mauritius, but is also amongst the top 10 of the best golf courses in the world. Take advantage of the Bacchus Cup 2013 scheduled for the end of November to play (amongst other Mauritian golf courses) the Touessrok Golf Course!!
